What is the RIOT?

The RIOT is a 3-day event for incoming 6-12th grade students on June 26-28th. This is the biggest event of the summer. The RIOT will be jammed packed with impactful teachings, the biggest water day in ABQ, exciting worship & so much more with each night ending with a new concert. Students from all over New Mexico will be in attendance to the best event of the summer.

FAQs

How much does it cost?

Registration kicks off with our Early Bird sale of $85 April 14th – May 15th. The price goes up to $100.00 May 16th – June 19th. Registration the week of the event will be $125.00.

WHAT DOES MY STUDENT NEED TO BRING?

Monday: Bible and a pen. Tuesday & Wednesday: Bible and a pen, clothing for water day (swimsuits: boys: suit and colored shirt/tank, girls: one-piece or two-piece with a colored shirt/tank), towel, change of clothes, a bag to hold wet clothes.

DO STUDENTS NEED TO BRING EXTRA SPENDING MONEY?

There will be snacks available for purchase from the café’ throughout the weekend as well as Artist merchandise tables during the concerts. Everything else is included in the registration fee.

CAN STUDENTS BRING CELL PHONES?

Students may bring a cell phone to contact parents or to take pictures only; however, you assume all risk if lost, broken, or taken.

CAN MY STUDENT DRIVE TO THE EVENT?

Licensed drivers may drive themselves to the Riverside Campus.

WHAT MEALS WILL BE PROVIDED?

Students will be provided dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Students will need to eat dinner on Monday, as well as lunch both Tuesday and Wednesday on their own. Snacks will be available for purchase throughout the weekend. We will have Gluten free and vegetarian options. We will not serve foods with any types of nuts. If your child has any other specific food allergies, you will need to make arrangements for them to bring appropriate meals. Other than allergy-specific foods, students should not bring their own food.

IS THIS AN OVERNIGHT EVENT?

Students will NOT be staying overnight for the RIOT. Parents are responsible for drop off and pick up of their student, at the beginning and conclusion of each day of the event.

WILL MID-SCHOOLERS AND HIGH SCHOOLERS INTERACT?

Yes. We will have corporate teaching and worship gatherings that will be open seating. there will also be breakout sessions geared towards gender and age-specific groups.

DOES MY STUDENT HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL ACTIVITIES?

Attendance generally infers participation. If a student is physically limited, other arrangements can be made. Students are expected to participate in the main services and breakout sessions by listening, having a good attitude, contributing to the discussion times, and interacting with others.

WHAT IF MY STUDENT NEEDS TO ARRIVE LATE OR LEAVE EARLY?

Arrangements for these types of cases need to be communicated to and cleared by the youth pastor at your campus prior to the RIOT. No fees will be refunded in such cases.

WHAT ABOUT MY STUDENT’S PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION?

There will be a nurse on site all three days however your student will be responsible for their medication during each day.
