BREAK THE ICE
If you could create the coolest and best Disney ride, what would it be?
SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS
1. Why is thinking about how short life is so important for us even when we are young?
2. Read John 14:6. What does it mean that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life? How is that related to heaven (See John 14:1-2)?
John 14:6
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
3. What is the danger of dying without believing in Jesus Christ?
4. What is the peace that we have if we have trusted in Jesus?
5. Read 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. What does the fire described in these verses reveal? How can we apply it to our lives?
1 Corinthians 3:10-1510 Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ. 12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. 13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. 14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.
6. If you had to create an epitaph today, what would it say and why?
7. Based on the truth that we will be judged one day, how does this make you think differently about your life and how you live it?
MOVING FORWARD
Take a few minutes to think about how you as a group can serve each other. Maybe you can pray for each other when you are going through a hard time. Maybe you can send encouraging texts throughout the week. Whatever you decide, make a plan for how your group will be a group who serves and takes care of each other.
