1. How does your tongue have the power of life and death? ( Proverbs 18:21)

21 The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

2. Do most people you know speak words that tear people down or build people up? Why?

3. How have you seen the power of words in your own life, whether they are words that have been said to you or words that you have said?

4. Read James 3:7-8. Who can tame the tongue? Why is this important for us to understand?

James 3:7-8

7 People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, 8 but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.

5. How do we surrender, or turn over, our words to God?

 6. What is one step that you can take to turn your words over to God today?
