Easter Bible Reading Plan, Day 5

Day Five: The Resurrection

After Jesus dies on the cross to pay the price for our sins, He's buried in a tomb. For the Twelve Disciples and all the followers of Jesus, hope is gone. Until, three days later, the tomb is empty. Jesus has risen!

Matthew 28:16-20 (The Great Commission)

1. Have you had a moment where you got what you were waiting for? Christmas? A birthday? Name the best one you had.

2. Think about what the angel said: "He is risen from the dead, just as He said would happen." Jesus followed through on His promise and proved that He is who He said He is and that He'll do everything He said He would do. What makes Jesus different than any other person that has died? What does that mean for how we should respond to Him? What kind of trust should we have in Him?

Reread The Great Commission. Matthew 28:16-20.

3. On Easter, we celebrate the greatest day in history. But what is Jesus saying we should do with that good news? And what does He promise at the end of these verses? On Easter, we celebrate the greatest day in history. But what is Jesus saying we should do with that good news? And what does He promise at the end of these verses?2. Our mission is to know Christ and to make Christ known. What's the best way to do that? Are you doing that now?

4. As nerve-wracking as it might be to even think about sharing your faith with someone, if we really do love our friends, we'll tell them about the best thing that ever happened to us, Jesus. Who are three people that need to hear the story of Jesus and how He's changed your life?

5. Spend some time praying for them. Pray that God would open up their hearts to hear about Jesus; that God would give you opportunities to share your faith with them. And that you, knowing Jesus is surely with you, would be bold and tell them.
